About

About Us

With a founding mission to create a positive impact on the planet we chose the fats and oils industry to work in as the third most impactful food humans produce, after only meat and dairy. Yeast that naturally produce oil have existed since the beginning of time. It is only now that through our innovation in genetics and precision fermentation that it can be made commercially viable.

Ben Wilding and Ben Williams came together from the worlds of business and technology to make this a reality. An expert team of scientists at our base in Oxford have cracked the yeast derived oil challenge. We have used science and engineering to meet people’s and planets needs.

Our expert team is complimented by a strong ecosystem of experienced advisors and partners.

Our name, Sun Bear Biofuture, derives from the world's smallest bear. There are fewer than 1,000 Sun Bears remaining, largely due to habitat loss from deforestation for agriculture. We are using biology and modern innovation to make a better future for all, including you and the sun bear.
